The C-TPAT Customs-Commercial Counterterrorism Alliance Transportation Security Program is a voluntary program created by the government and business community to build partnerships that strengthen and advance comprehensive international supply chains and U.S. border security.
C-TPAT BELIEVES THAT THE U.S. Department OF HOMELAND Security's Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can ensure the maximum security of transported goods by working with the ultimate owners of the international supply chain, such as importers, transportation companies, bulk carriers, qualifying customs brokers, and manufacturers.
Through this voluntary agreement, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requires that adequate security measures and communications are in place for inbound and outbound trade, and that all relevant supply chain partners are inspected for the security standards they uphold.
